Directions on how to use this website
1) Go to www.geocities.com and enter the appropriate user name and password.  Email me and I will send them to you.
2) Click on "Pagebuilder"
3) Another window will open, then Click on "Launch Pagebuilder"
4) You may have to install Pagebuilder on your computer.  It is quick and easy.
5) Page builder will launch and open up the last web page you worked on.  If our web page does not come up, go to the "open" folder at the top left of the page and click on it.  Then find your name and double click on it.  It will take you to your personal page.  Only work on your own personal Page - DO NOT OPEN SOMEONE ELSE'S PAGE!!!!
6) To input text on your page, simply click the "text" button on the tool bar at the top of the page.  Then, just double click in the text box and begin typing.
7) To link something to your text, click on the text box so that it is selected.  Then go to the "link" button on the tool bar at the top and click it.  Then you need to select what you want to link the text to.  If it is a URL, then you would select URL from the drop down box and then put your cursor in the blank space to the right and type the appropriate URL (i.e. - www.iamajackass.com).  Then click ok.  The text should then be underlined.  If it is not, then it didn't work.  Whenever you get done, be sure to save your work.  MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU GO TO SAVE YOUR PAGE THAT UNDERNEATH WHERE IT SAY "PAGE NAME" YOU SEE YOUR OWN NAME!!!!
8) To upload pictures - First, make sure your picture is formatted properly (This can and probably should be done before working on your page, but doesn't have to be).  Make sure it is not too big.  It should be no larger than the pictures on (Russ' Page).  If it is too big, it will take up too much space and will take a long time to view.  Pictures that are about 30% of their actual size are perfect.
9) Once your picture is properly formatted, go to "File" on the menu bar and select "upload files and images".
10) Another window will then pop up.  Click on the browse button and go to where your pictures are saved on your hard drive or disk (cd).  Once you find the picture you want to upload, double click on it.  You can upload 5 pics at a time.  Once you do this, click upload, then wait.  You will then see a message that your pics have been successfully uploaded.  Click Ok and you are done.
IMPORTANT- the name of the pic or file you are uploading cannot have any spaces in the title or it will not properly upload.  Example - Russ and John.JPG will not upload.  The title will need to read instead RussandJohn.JPG.
11) To have your picture show up on your page, you need to do the following:
First, click on the "text" button on the tool bar at the top of the page to get a text box.  Then type in the text box, the title of the picture.  The title can be anything you want it to say.  Then click the text box so that it is selected.  Next, click on the "link" button on the tool bar at the top of the page.  Then select "my file" from the drop down box.  Then "choose" the file you want to link the text to.  Somewhere in the list of files will be the pictures you uploaded.  Find the title of the picture that you uploaded and click on it.  After it is selected, click ok.  Your text should then be underlined.  Click save to save your work!
